No end to title race drama
THERE'S no predicting the outcome of the Whirlwind Sports Falmouth-Helston League's division one title chase after Falmouth Athletic suffered a surprise 6-2 defeat away to Mousehole.
Chacewater took full advantage to leap back over Mawnan into second place following their 3-1 win against Holmans. Rodney Gregory (2) and an own goal were the scorers.
St Keverne kept their hopes alive with a 2-1 win at Penryn Athletic IV after notching their goals through Phil James and Alan Thomas.
Falmouth Town III chalked up a huge 10-1 win against Lizard Argyle after snapping up goals through Jay Durber (4), Ross Bowden (2), James Miller (2), and Tim Hurrell (2).
Hayle III gave their hopes of avoiding relegation a boost with a 4-2 win against Stithians. Treve Bale had Stithians' goals.
Just to add flavour to the fight, Wendron III also had a surprise 3-2 win against St Agnes after scoring through Luke Murray (2) and Tom Langford.
In division two, leaders Pendeen romped to a 9-0 win against Trispen and Truro City III won 6-0 away to Constantine.
Stuart McVey and Stephen Hughes scored the goals in Mawgan United's 2-1 win against Carharrack, but goals from Antony Williams and Ed Timmins couldn't prevent Wendron IV slipping to a 3-2 defeat at home to RNAS Culdrose Res.
Perranporth Res won 4-1 againat Rosudgeon.
In division three Colin Kettle and Chris Vargas scored for Lanner in their 2-2 draw with Penryn Athletic IV and Martin Wortley (3), Steve Williams and Sean Winfield scored for Porthleven Rangers in their 5-1 win against Carharrack Res.
On Monday Pendeen won 4-2 away to Carharrack in division two.
n Porthleven Rangers won the Whetly Cobb Cup when they defeated Camborne Park 1-0 in the final.

Percy Stephens Cup semi-final: Mawgan U 0, Mawnan 3.
Div. III: Frogpool/Cusgarne 0, lanner 11; Rosudgeon 0, Mullion R 3; St Day III 3, Ruan Minor 5.
Div. I - Wednesday: St Agnes R 1, Hayle III 1; St Day R 2, Falmouth T III 5.
Div. II: Truro C III 4, Perranwell 1.
Div. III: Porthleven Rangers 2, Stithians R 1.
